Let's end bike theft. Together.

Bike theft prevention infrastructure for cities, campuses & organizations

3.3M+ Searchable Bikes ~1M Registered on Our Platform 1,520+ Partners Since 2013

The Problem

2 million bikes stolen annually

$1B+

in losses each year

<5%

are ever recovered

73%

of owners never report theft to police

Bike theft erodes public trust, creates financial stress, and discourages active transportation. It's also linked to drug-related offenses and ties up police resources — recovered bikes overburden evidence storage for months.

Our story

There had to be a better way

"In 2011, my bike was stolen. I put the word out to my mountain bike team and within an hour, 9,700 cyclists knew. A friend of a friend of a friend found it on eBay. With the Seattle Police, I got it back. But without my network and a lot of luck, it never would have happened."

So in 2013, we built what that community did for one person — but for everyone. That became 529 Garage.
